Why You’ll Love This Fruit Punch Drink

  • Cost-Effective: Buying ingredients in bulk and making your own punch can be kinder to your wallet than purchasing pre-made options.
  • No Nasty Additives: Say goodbye to preservatives and artificial flavors. Your homemade punch is as real as it gets.
  • Perfect for Any Special Occasion: Whether it’s a BBQ, family reunions, baby showers, or a solo chill session, your homemade punch fits the scene perfectly.

This recipe has been in high demand. After sharing my holiday punch last year, you were insisting on a summer-time version. Well, I heard your cries and am here to deliver. This homemade fruit punch recipe is SO. DANG. GOOD.

This non-alcoholic fruit punch combines four fruit flavors for the base and is topped off with a little ginger ale. Although, my husband and son would drink the entire pitcher without the sparkling soda! It has won their stamp of approval, and has already been made over a dozen times in the One Sweet Appetite home!

Ingredients You’ll Need

Up until recently, I had no idea you could make your own fruit punch at home. But it turns out, it is incredibly simple. Fruit punch is made of a combination of fruit flavored juices. Which means it is incredibly easy to adjust and change the flavor profile. Below are the flavors we love, but feel free to adjust according to your flavor preference.

  • Cranberry Juice: This is going to be the base for your punch and the first fruit juice you will need. Pick a variety that is good, in your opinion.
  • Pineapple Juice: If you can find pineapple coconut, that is our favorite. It can be tricky to find, but we occasionally see it at Trader Joe’s!
  • Orange Juice: Fresh is best, but you could also go for a more quality brand like Simply Orange.
  • Lime Juice: Fresh squeezed makes all the difference. In a pinch, you can use the bottled variety.
  • Ginger Ale: This is an optional ingredient, but adds a fun fizzy finish. You can also swap this for sparkling cider, club soda, or lemon lime soda.
  • Fresh Fruit: For garnish you can add slices of strawberries, orange slices, limes, or any fresh fruit!

Fruit Punch Recipe

This fruit punch drink recipe is a non-alcoholic drink that is perfect for all occasions. I’ve included options for an alcoholic fruity punch recipe below, but you really don’t need it for this to be a hit. There is no added sugar, besides the juices, and the combination of cranberry with pineapple is unbeatable!

Let’s break it down step-by-step to make it super simple for a first-timer:

  1. Combine Juices: In a large pitcher or punch bowl, mix together cranberry juice, pineapple juice, orange juice, and lime juice.
  2. Chill: Refrigerate the juice mixture for about 1 hour to blend the flavors.
  3. Add Fizz: Before serving, gently stir in the chilled ginger ale.
  4. Garnish: Add slices of your chosen fruits into the punch for extra flair.
  5. Serve: Pour the punch over ice in glasses, if desired.

Tip: For a fun twist, try freezing some of the juice in ice cube trays and use them instead of regular ice to keep the punch chilled without diluting the flavor.

Helpful Tools

When whipping up easyparty punchrecipes, having the right tools can make all the difference. Here’s a list of handy kitchen gadgets that’ll make your punch-making process a breeze:

  • Large Pitcher or Punch Bowl (affiliate): Essential for mixing and serving your punch. Go for one that’s pretty enough for presentation if you’re hosting.
  • Measuring Cups and Spoons (affiliate): Accuracy is key for the perfect balance of flavors, so these are a must.
  • Long-Handled Spoon or Ladle (affiliate): For stirring and serving. A ladle is particularly useful if you’re using a punch bowl.
  • Fancy Glasses (affiliate): Not necessary, but fun. It’s always more enjoyable to drink punch from a nice glass!

Recipe Notes:

Can I make fruit punch ahead of time?

Absolutely! One of my favorite things is the easy prep. You can mix the juices a day in advance and keep them chilled. Just add the ginger ale and garnishes right before serving to maintain fizz and freshness.

Can I add alcohol for an adult version?

While this recipe is written as non-alcoholic, we have served this as a co*cktail. You have two options when turning this into an alcoholic punch recipe.Fill a glass with ice.Add 1.5 oz of vodka (one shot) into the glass.Top off with the punch, stir, and enjoy. OR stir in 2 cups of vodka into the punch before adding the ginger ale.

Can I use frozen or canned fruits?

Absolutely. Frozen fruits can double as ice cubes, and canned fruits work well too. Just be mindful of added sugars in canned fruits.

What’s the best way to serve fruit punch at a party?

This is the best party punch recipe!A large punch bowl with a ladle is perfect for parties. Set up a self-serve station with cups, extra garnishes, and an ice bucket. You can even try serving this fruit punch recipe with sherbet!

Can I make this punch fizzy without using ginger ale?

Sure! Replace ginger ale with sparkling water or soda water for fizz without the added sweetness.

Hi! Would you be able to help me figure out the measurements for this punch if only making ONE glass? I’m working on recipe cards for a DIY tropical drink bar for Teacher Appreciation Week at my daughters school. The idea is that we will provide the ingredients and recipe cards for each teacher to make their own tropical drink. Thanks! This sounds delicious!!

Fruit Punch Recipe (Non-Alcoholic) - One Sweet Appetite (15)
I ended up making 3 batches today for a baby shower because it was so well received. I used Ocean Spray Light Cranberry Juice (not the diet), Simple Truth Organic OJ, Trader Joe’s Pineapple Juice, fresh squeezed lime and Vernor’s Ginger Soda/Ale. Did not deviate from recipe quantities. Had Prosecco and Champagne on the side for those wanting to give their punch some punch. We did slice a naval orange when mixing it all in the punch bowl. Received lots of compliments and will definitely save for future events!

Is it cranberry juice pure or co*cktail?

    Reply

    • Jesseca says

Pick whichever you prefer. Both will work in this recipe.

      Reply

      • Joanna says

Pure cranberry would be quite bitter if you used 4 cups. co*cktail would make a sweeter, fruitier, more palatable punch.

      • Jesseca says

        Thanks for the tip, Joanna

  9. Suzy says

Can I use sparkling or seltzer instead of gingerale

    Reply

    • Jesseca says

I’d recommend sprite or 7up vs a seltzer or club soda. However, if you are ok with a less sweet drink seltzer would work.
