Get The Facts: Can People See Who Viewed Their TikTok? (1)

Since its early days, TikTok has intrigued users with its unique features, one of the most notable being the ability to see who viewed your profile. This feature allowed users to identify who was checking out their content. It quickly became a hot topic among TikTokers, adding an element of curiosity and engagement to the app. Users could see the usernames of those who visited their profiles, offering a peek into who might be interested in their videos or overall presence. While this feature has seen some changes and periods of unavailability over the years, its return continues to spark interest, giving users valuable insights into their audience and fueling the app’s dynamic social interactions.

So, what else can you see on TikTok? Can you still see who viewed your profile if you turn off the feature? And can you find out who watched your latest video?

Video Views vs. Profile Views: A Creator’s Perspective

For creators, video views and profile views offer different yet complementary insights into their audience. Video views count how many times your videos are played. Each play, even if by the same person multiple times, adds to your total view count, showcasing your content’s reach and popularity. However, video views don’t reveal the identities of your viewers, limiting the depth of audience insights you can gain.

Profile views, on the other hand, provide detailed information about who has visited your profile. This feature is invaluable for identifying who is genuinely interested in your content and potential loyal followers or collaborators. By knowing exactly who’s checking out your profile, you can engage more personally with your audience and customize your content to better suit their interests.

Can You See Who Viewed Your TikTok Videos?

If you’ve ever asked yourself, can you see who viewed your TikTok, the short answer is no for video views. Unfortunately, TikTok doesn’t provide details on individual viewers; you can only see the overall view count. This means you can monitor how many times your video has been played, but not the specific viewers. This anonymity promotes a more open and uninhibited viewing experience. Speaking of metrics, it’s always a good thing to make sure your content is reaching a lot of FYPs. We recommend you consider buying TikTok views or TikTok likes to make your TikToks stand out!

However, there’s an interesting feature for those seeking a bit more detail. TikTok’s Post View History allows you to see which mutual followers have watched your videos within the last seven days, provided both of you have this feature enabled. This tool is great for assessing engagement among your followers and identifying which of your connections are viewing your content. Remember, this only works if both you and the viewer have the feature turned on, ensuring mutual transparency.

Profile View History

Profile View History is a feature that lets you see who viewed your profile over the past 30 days. This feature only works if both you and the viewers have it enabled.

Reminder!Users must be at least 16 years old and have fewer than 5,000 followers to use this feature!

To enable Profile View History, follow these steps:

  • Launch TikTok: Open the app and go to your profile page.
  • Tap the Footprints Icon: Find the footprints icon in the top-right corner.
  • Turn On the Feature: On the “Profile views” page, tap ‘Turn on’ to enable the feature.

Alternatively, you can enable Profile View History through the “Settings and privacy” page by navigating to ‘Privacy’ and then ‘Profile views,’ and switching on the toggle.

Can You See Who Checked Your Profile If You Disable the Feature?

Once you disable Profile View History on TikTok, you can no longer see who has viewed your profile. Many users choose to turn off this feature because they don’t want their own visits to appear on other people’s profile view lists. However, turning it off means sacrificing the ability to see who’s been checking out your profile.

Some users tried to bypass this by enabling Profile View History for a short period, quickly browsing through profiles to see who viewed them, and then disabling it again. While this tactic did allow them to see profile views temporarily, it wasn’t foolproof. When they visited other profiles, it still sent a notification to those users, alerting them that their profile had been viewed. So, the attempt to sneakily check profile views ended up revealing their activity anyway.

Case Study: Does Blocking Remove You from Profile View History?

With so many rumors about bypassing TikTok’s Profile View History feature, we decided to put them to the test in 2024. Some believe blocking someone after viewing their profile removes you from their view list, while others suggest unblocking later to remain hidden. In this case study, we will explore the nuances of TikTok’s Profile View History feature to give the answer: can people see who viewed their TikTok profiles, and does blocking change that visibility?

The Experiment

To ensure accuracy, we used two fully updated devices with the latest version of the TikTok app. Here’s how we set up and conducted our experiment:

  • We created two TikTok accounts: the main RedSocial Account and a Burner Account for testing.
  • Both accounts had the Profile View History feature turned on.

First, we had the Burner Account visit the RedSocial Account. After a few minutes, we checked the Profile View History of the RedSocial Account and confirmed that the Burner Account appeared on the list. This confirmed that the view was registered.

Step 2: Blocking

Next, we had the Burner Account block the RedSocial Account. As soon as this was done, we noticed that the Burner Account disappeared from the RedSocial Account’s Profile View History list. The blocking effectively removed the view from the list.

Step 3: Unblocking

To further explore the feature, we unblocked the RedSocial Account using the Burner Account within 30 days. After unblocking, we checked the Profile View History again and found that the Burner Account had reappeared on the list. This showed that the initial view was still logged and became visible again upon unblocking.

Findings and Conclusion

Blocking someone on TikTok does indeed remove you from their Profile View History list immediately. However, if you unblock them within 30 days, your profile view will reappear on their list. This means that while blocking can temporarily hide your visit, unblocking within this period reveals it again.

So, if you accidentally view someone’s profile and want to hide your visit, blocking them will do the trick temporarily. But be cautious: unblocking them within 30 days will make your profile view visible again. To keep your visit hidden permanently, you’ll need to either keep them blocked or turn off the Profile View History feature before unblocking.

Wrap Up

TikTok’s features, like seeing who viewed your profile, offer a mix of benefits and challenges. They’re fantastic for creators who want to understand their audience better and engage more personally. However, they also raise privacy concerns and can lead to some awkward moments. Imagine your crush discovering you’ve been checking out their profile—definitely a risk worth considering!

The platform’s ever-evolving nature means these features can change, disappear, or reappear at any time. Whether you’re thrilled about these insights or prefer to stay under the radar, it’s all about finding the balance that works for you. Play with these features cautiously and enjoy the unique ways they can enhance your TikTok experience. Just remember, while these tools can provide valuable insights, they also come with the potential for unintended visibility.

TikTok keeps us all on our toes with its constant updates and surprises. So, explore, experiment, and most importantly, have fun. Happy TikToking!
